Passport renewals for Russian citizens temporarily residing in the US still holding Russian internal passports
According to the Russian law, all international passports for the Russian citizens are issued or renewed in Russia according to the permanent residence/registration address in the Russian Federation. The Russian Consulate in the USA is authorized to accept documents for passport renewals from the Russian citizens:
Permanently registered in the Russian Federation,
Temporarily residing in the USA on valid student/work visas or Greencards;
Whose passport has been lost or spoiled during their stay in the USA.
All Russian passports are processed through the Russian Consulate in Washington DC. To apply for a new Russian passport please fill out the application form, sign and notarize the consulate forms sent by our customer service consultants and send them to us by mail along with additional documents*.
Our office is located in downtown Chicago and if you live in the area, you may consult with us in person as well as document pick up/drop off to our passport processing office.
*Attention: according to the official requirements our application form is filled out in Russian. The list of additional documents is also provided in the Russian language to avoid confusions about the specific names of Russian documents.
